Freshman (2007) Pierce made the move to be a full-time pitcher early in his freshman season and made five appearances out of the Razorbacks bullpen in his inaugural season in Fayetteville ... posted a 1-0 record with seven strikeouts and five walks in 6.2 innings on the mound ... retired the first batter he faced in three of his five appearances ... made his first appearance for the Hogs on Feb. 25 in a 9-8 win over Illinois State where he allowed just one hit ... then recorded the final two outs in a 10-5 loss at Minnesota on March 4 in the second game of a doubleheader against the Golden Gophers ... allowed his first inherited runner to score vs. Minnesota ... struck out the side in the ninth inning against Oral Roberts on March 13 in his only inning of work ... failed to get the Hogs out of a first-inning jam at Centenary, allowing all three inherited runners to score and giving up two runs of his own in one-third of an inning ... earned his first career win on April 4 against Northern Colorado when he pitched three innings out of the bullpen and gave up just two runs on five hits ... fanned a career-best four vs. the Bears while walking just one.
